Dates mark first european shows in 18 years with original line-up Thursday, 2nd June 2005, Zurich / Switzerland, Maag Eventhall
Zurich (ots) - Following a highly successful American tour in support of their latest release 'Astronaut' (Epic Records), the five original members of Duran Duran (Simon LeBon, John Taylor, Andy Taylor, Roger Taylor and Nick Rhodes) today announced that they will hit European shores in May 2005, for the next leg of their world tour - which will cover 16 countries over a two month period.
The band's only swiss shows is on Thursday, 2nd june 2005 at the maag eventhall in Zurich. Tickets for this show - which will be the first the original line-up have played together in Switzerland since getting back together - will go on sale to the public on Wednesday, 16th March 2005. The five founding members of Duran Duran re-united in 2001, after an 18 year hiatus, to record a new album and perform live. Since this time they have gone from strength to strength - topping the charts and selling out shows in a matter of minutes throughout the UK, US, Japan and Australia. In recognition of their continued success, over the course of the last two years, the band have been honoured with lifetime achievement awards from MTV (USA), The BPI (British Phonographic Industry), The Ondas (Spain) and Q Magazine (UK).
So far this year, the band have played 43 US shows - which have garnered them rave reviews across the country.
