IT was a dream come true for Duran Duran fan Richard Conlan when he met his heroes.
LOSS: Richard Conlan.
But the dream was shattered only minutes later when a thief stole his camera - containing 24 pictures of him with the band - from under his seat as he watched them in concert at the M.E.N. Arena.
Richard, 40, of Claymere Avenue, Norden, Rochdale, is offering a £250 reward for the recovery of the camera memory card.
"I'm not bothered about the camera," he said, "I just want the pictures back."
Richard paid £900 in a charity auction to meet Duran Duran backstage at the Arena. He admits to being "obsessed" with their music since hearing their hit Planet Earth when he was about 16.
Memorabilia
He has more than 500 items of memorabilia in his attic, including spare copies of all their singles in addition to the copies he plays daily.
He also has scarves, badges, books, DVDs, videos, autographs, gold discs and paintings - and a 12-inch tattoo featuring the band on each arm.
Richard said he found the band members Simon Le Bon, John Taylor, Andy Taylor, Nick Rhodes and Roger Taylor, very friendly.
"We chatted and I had pictures taken," he said. "I showed them my tattoos and they signed items."
During the concert, he put his mobile phone and camera in a holdall under his seat, but they disappeared.
Since then, he has been texting his own phone asking for the pictures to be returned, but has had no reply.
"I just want the memory card," he said. "They can keep the rest."
Anyone who can help return his pictures should contact Richard on 07770 421 421.
