hi Duran/ Bond maniac's A war veterans group's bid to give Sean Connery the member number 007 has failed, because the member with the number refused to give it up. Officials of the Royal Scots Club planned to enrol the former Bond star as member 007 when they presented him with an honorary lifetime membership. But the man, whose number is 007, refused to hand it over and also ignored appeals from the association to give it to Connery, says the Daily Record. The association, which brings together soldiers of the Royal Scots Regiment, instead enrolled Connery as member number 1127. The actor laughed off the rebuff as he met former and current members of the regiment. He said he was "absolutely delighted" to join the Edinburgh-based club. He'd been given the honorary membership after donating £1,000 to help veterans to travel to Holland to visit the graves of fallen comrades. [what a looser...] peace & love SLIM K ;D
